TOMAS (Touristic Online Management System) is a web-based tourism reservation and information platform that has been operating since 2003, developed by TouristDataShop AG. It serves as a centralised booking and availability management system used by regional tourism organisations, destination management organisations (DMOs), and accommodation providers across the DACH region — Austria, Germany, and Switzerland.
In Austria, TOMAS is used by regional tourism boards and their member accommodations — hotels, guesthouses, apartments, and holiday rentals — to manage online availability and bookings through destination portals. Properties connect via the TManager extranet, where they can update profiles, manage pricing, and sync availability. TOMAS interfaces with over 100 hotel management systems (PMS and channel managers), enabling automatic transmission of rates and availability to tourism board booking portals.
TOMAS provides a TBooking widget that properties can embed on their own websites for free, supporting direct bookings alongside distribution through DMO portals. It also offers a TPortal feature enabling hotels to offer room allocations on event and congress portals. For properties located in Austrian tourism regions, connecting to TOMAS ensures visibility through official regional and destination websites — a valuable supplementary channel for capturing domestic and European leisure travellers.
